The ultimate in Ceramic Core Technology

All German-made “clay core” ceramics are not equal. Decades of development and innovation have led to the most effective multi-ceramic core design yet. During manufacture, chamotte (a dense, mineral-rich clay) is compressed tightly around the long-life heating elements to form a plate and then kiln-fired. The process forms an air-tight seal around each element and a 100% efficient heat transfer with no exposure to air or air-borne particles. A lifespan in excess of 30 years is guaranteed.

Each ceramic plate is an optimal thickness of 20mm- creating a slimline radiator that dissipates heat steadily, but does not suffer lengthy warm-up times. Lower-wattage elements are sealed within the top row of plates to prevent excess heat accumulation and a more uniform surface temperature. No thermal switches or wiring are present in the top of the radiator. Long-term powerful performance, cost-savings and comfort are built-in to every core.

8 x Maximised Surface Area

53% Increased Warm Air Flow*

Enhanced comfort through design

Amplified radiant heat output and high-volume air flow

The ridged outer body increases surface area by eight times. That’s 8 x the surface area of a flat panel for huge gains in radiant heat output. Radiated heat energy creates focused warmth directed to people and objects in the room.

Enlarged hollow flutes covering both sides of the core act as cold air intakes, multiplying air-flow by up to 53% (*compared with a flat panel heater). Cool, dense air is drawn from the floor level, heated and recirculated throughout the room. This process of enhanced natural convection requires no fan or moving parts, creates no dust, odour, or drying effect.

Built for life

 Backed by a 30-Year Warranty

Your primary heating system is in use continuously – operating at high temperatures daily and you expect that it should do this reliably and effiiciently for many years. The Aeroflow has you covered with a real 30-year warranty.  The warranty covers the durable powder-coated radiator body, ceramic (fireclay) heat plates, and the heating elements against any manufacturing defects for three full decades.

All electronic components are backed by a 2-year warranty and are designed to be easily detachable. In the rare event of a fault, they can be replaced quickly—even after the warranty has expired. Aeroflow Radiators aren’t just efficient—they’re built for life.

German Electric Radiators A brief history

German-made ceramic electric radiators are testament to the precision engineering and innovation that we’ve come to expect from German manufacturers as a whole. Let’s take a look at where it all started and how they have evolved to become what’s widely regarded as the best direct electric heating technology available today.

What’s the ceramic material inside German electric radiators?

The ceramic in question is known in Germany as “chamotte”. It’s also known elsewhere as “Fireclay”. Chamotte was first used in domestic heating over 500 years ago in Central Europe. Kachelöfen (tiled stoves) made from chamotte were commonly used for heating and cooking, and later also in industry. The primary function of chamotte in wood and coal-fired Kachelöfen design was to absorb and retain heat whilst withstanding the very high temperatures produced. It reduced the consumption of fuel, whilst providing a sustained and uniform distribution of heat without the need for any maintenance. The use of chamotte continued into electrically-powered heating in the form of electrical tiled stoves in the 1960’s and now to the electric radiators that we know today.

At the heart of every genuine German-built electric radiator is a series of ceramic (chamotte) heat-retaining plates – each with its own heating element tightly imbedded inside.

Though the ceramic material traditionally used in German radiators is certainly quite exceptional at holding heat, there is no magic involved, as some German electric heating suppliers might have you believe. Though a thicker ceramic plate might take longer to cool-down, it must also be considered that consequently, it also takes longer to warm-up. Others might claim to be made from a “magmatic” material (possibly inferring that it’s from a volcano) but again, any claims of magical properties should be discounted. One thing remains true regardless: Where German electric heating is concerned, the heat-retaining ceramic material should be formed from the dense mineral-rich clay known as chamotte.

And the heating elements?

The heating elements contained inside a German Radiator should always be sealed within the ceramic plates. Importantly, the clay should be formed and compressed extremely tightly around the heating elements before it is kiln-fired. This process is key to ensuring longevity and an effective heat-transfer. Heating elements pushed into holes drilled into the ceramic plates after firing lose both the reliability and effectiveness of those that are correctly sealed inside.

Any contact with air inside the radiator body can reduce the transfer of heat to the ceramic, cause burning of dust particles, have a drying-effect on the air in the room, and ultimately cause heating elements to fail prematurely. Advancements in design have further increased reliability with the use of high-quality thermal switches and re-shaped ceramic plates, designed to create cooler operating temperatures for the associated electronic components inside the body of the radiator.

The steel outer body

Though most German electric radiators have a very similar appearance, higher-quality products are generally manufactured from a higher grade rolled steel, with the best manufactures even opting for zinc-galvanised steel for a truly robust build. A fluted outer casing is spot-welded across many points of the radiator to promote a healthy combination of both radiant and convectional heat output.

As environmental concern continues to be at the forefront of our consciousness, German-made electric radiators have embraced the challenge of sustainability and energy efficiency. Manufacturers continue to optimise heat distribution and also integrate smart controls to minimize energy consumption without compromising comfort.

Innovative Design and Functionality: German engineering is synonymous with precision and attention to detail, and ceramic electric heaters are no exception. Design aesthetics evolved alongside technological advancements, with sleek and modern designs complementing the functionality of these heaters. Features such as programmable thermostats, remote control operation, and silent operation became standard, offering users unparalleled convenience and comfort.

Looking Ahead

As we look to the future, German-made ceramic electric radiators are most certainly here to stay. Advances in digital connectivity and energy management are certain to further enhance the performance and efficiency. With a well-established commitment to quality and sustainability, German manufacturers remain at the forefront of heating technology.

Conclusion: From humble wood and coal-fired beginnings, to cutting-edge heating solutions, these radiators have evolved to meet the changing needs of households and businesses worldwide.

My customers Vantage radiator finally gave up after it was bought 12 years ago. The company not only still had spares for it they provided proper advice to for me to fix it. A ten minute job and it is back in service. They could have sold another but were happy to get this one fixed. This radiator has been in use every day in the coldest house imaginable for 12 years. I have become a customer myself now and look forward to receiving the updated model for my future installations. A good company and reliable product you don't see so much any more.

We bought vantage connect radiators for our 4-bed home. Perfect solution for us and can't speak highly enough of the radiators and the service. All arrived on time, well packaged and very nicely made. We had them fitted ahead of the winter to replace Eco7 heaters. They are better in every respect. No hesitation in recommending! Team EHE.

We had an unexpected problem with a Vantage wifi heater following a lightning storm. We lost connectivity with the heater so could not turn it off and it showed permanently as 'disconnected' Electric Heating Expert were helpful and responsive, and quick to point out the checks we needed to do. Alongside this we were having our electrics and wifi checked. It turned out to be a problem with the wifi router which had been damaged in the storm which we are now rectifying. EHE were in touch throughout and engagement in our problem continued until we had got to the bottom of it. I was grateful for the advice and support - soemthing you don't always get these days once you have purchsed an item, Thank you!

The problem it proved was not due to the heater.

We've installed the Vantage product many times in our garden rooms and had no problems whatsoever. The rads operate efficiently 24/7. They're also the easiest to use of any we've fitted so good for customer and installer. Good design and good quality. Well worth the investment for the extra peace of mind. Charlie.

A level of service and care rarely (unfortunately) seen these days with most retailers. There was a stock issue with my radiator but Tony phoned me and let me know it was all in hand, and I'd have the radiator by the time my sparky was coming. It duly arrived as promised. Lovely follow-up email, too, asking how it was going, whether we needed any help operating it etc. In short: fully recommend EHE!

Great product and fast delivery, customer service is also very good. I ordered Aeroflow heaters and had them delivered the very next day. They helped out with a faster than normal delivery due to my order being large and me having been let down by another retailer last minute. The extra bonus was a better price and better service. The heaters are top quality. I 100% recommend this company.

I wouldn't go anywhere else even if just for advice and not even buying heating. Extremely helpful advisors. I've used this company twice. Both times the service was excellent and heating spot-on. The most helpful and experienced supplier around.
